The fall garden is planted. And I am really looking forward to eating the salad it produces.
Mamie was in town and helped me plant. We had a lovely day of tortilla soup, plant buying, errand running, and then a little digging in the dirt. Having her help both made me feel like a slave driver, and also made me grateful. She is the matriarch garden guru of our family. And I aspire to have her knowledge! I wish I had documented the day with pictures. Here are a few of the final product.
We have arugula, green leaf lettuce, spinach, garlic, green onions, shallots, cilantro, parsley, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, and a left over tomato plant. Yum.
Mamie also bought me a few beauty berries that I am excited to see bloom.
In other news, I don’t know the name of this tree. Does anyone else know?
