About Rule of Scott

My name is Chelsea.  I live in Austin, Texas, with my husband, Scott.  We both basically grew up in Austin and absolutely love our town.  I am a wife, daughter, sister, aunt, lawyer, paper-lover, note-writer, wanna-be bread maker, cook, runner, eater, lover of all things creative, God-fearing girl.  I strive to honor God but often fall on my face.

The Rule of Scott is an idea introduced to me by Scott.  Typically when he sets out to fix something, he gives me the warning that the Rule of Scott may occur—meaning that he may fix what needed fixing, but in the process he might break something else.  I find that to be true in my own life.  For all the good I try to accomplish, I often mess something up.  This blog is the chronicle of those projects.  Those that succeed and those that fall flat.

I love the blog! You Go Girl! Love you!

  2. I LOVE this house! I feel like I have seen it before. Maybe when I’ve been fantasizing about living in Austin while looking at Trulia late into the night? It is exactly what we’d want if we ever get the opportunity to move back to Austin. I will love reading this blog and living vicariously through you. : )

  3. Oh Elizabeth! We would LOOOOOVE for you to be back in Austin. I will start scouting a house so you can come be my neighbor. 🙂

  5. What a cool blog! I heard about from Laura – met her yesterday! I saw your re-upholstered sofa. Laura said you got a great price on it. May I ask how much and for the contact info for the upholsterer? Thanks so much!

    Hey Chelsea,
Just came across your house number post – I actually just bought some of those numbers from anthro and am on a quest to find the number “1” tile. I feel extremely strange asking you this, but if you didn’t end up using them, I would love to buy it from you! Email me at megangreen@seacoast.org if you want to talk more about it. Thanks so much!

  7. Megan,

I apologize for the slow response! I absolutely love my house numbers and think I better hang on to them. I hope you find exactly what you need!

  8. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! I have a fellow blogger! Your pictures are AMAZING. Of course, it even looks better in PERSON. I absolutely love your house. That Sherwin Williams Rosemary is just fantastic. Can you redo my house? Love the Rule of Scott. Fantastic!
